As a member of the Indiana Boer Goat Classic, you have the unique opportunity to support an organization dedicated to the growth and success of the Boer and meat goat industry in Indiana with a focus on Youth Development.
Junior members are eligible to participate in the Youth Challenge Series program and compete for year-end awards by earning points at shows throughout the year. Junior members may attend any IBGC show, clinic or event and are encouraged to participate whenever possible. As a Junior member, you’ll also be eligible to apply for the IBGC Youth Ambassadors to work with other goal-oriented youth to promote the meat goat industry and the IBGC through a variety of outreach programs and activities. We encourage and welcome input from Junior members at our meetings, however Junior members are not eligible to vote at membership meetings.
Adult members with a current Farm or Individual membership are encouraged to get involved by attending, participating and voting at meetings on matters relevant to the IBGC and the Indiana Boer goat industry. The IBGC also encourages all adult members to take an active role in the future of the club and serve on any of the committees available to ensure the success of all club functions.
As an adult member, you are eligible to vote on club business and are entitled to 1 vote per membership, at the Annual Membership meeting and each additional membership meeting held throughout the year. All members with a Farm membership can be listed on the IBGC Breeder’s Directory, which is the premier listing for Boer and meat goat breeders in Indiana. Additionally, Farm memberships are also eligible for free listings of shows and events hosted or organized by the member. All members in good standing are welcome to attend and participate in any IBGC show, clinic or event hosted and organized by the IBGC.
All IBGC Members enjoy the benefit of networking with Boer and meat goat breeders throughout the state at various shows and events. Additionally, by becoming a member of the IBGC, you will have the opportunity to meet people who are interested in the Boer goat industry, potential new customers and take advantage of marketing opportunities as they become available through the IBGC.
The Indiana Boer Goat Classic (IBGC) is always looking for ways to give back to the youth, and in 2017 approved a Scholarship Program as one more avenue to give back to the members who have supported IBGC over the years. The goal of this program is to award at least one $500 Scholarship to an applicant who is an active IBGC member and at least a Senior in High School and meets all other requirements. This program will be supported through generous contributions from sponsors as well as fund-raising activities by the Youth Ambassadors. Scholarship winner(s) will be announced annually at the Year End Awards Ceremony and Member Dinner at our Fall Show.
Scholarship Deadline: July 31st of current year
